Congratulations to the East District team of Jessica and Emily Dalgetty (Glencorse),Catherine Goodwin (Glenbervie), Charlotte Munro (Gullane), Hannah Scott (Broomieknowe),and Alexandra Tait (St Regulus) for retaining the SLGA Girls' Inter Divisional Championship Trophy over the weekend at Ballumbie Castle Golf Club,  Dundee.

On Saturday morning they played steady golf to beat the North District team by 2 games to 1. However, the afternoon match against the South Team was more of a battle. Determined to win, the second pairing of Jessica and Catherine pulled out a birdie on the last hole to win by 1 hole and in the final pairing of Alexandra and Charlotte, Alexandra played the shot of the day, pin high, onto a two tiered 18th green, to allow Charlotte to hit a great putt to secure them of a 1 hole victory.

Going into Sunday and the final day of play, East District team found themselves up against the West Team who also had won both their matches on the first day. So it was all to play for between the two teams.
Jessica and Catherine after playing so well on the first day lost their match by 7&5. However, it was not long until East District got a win from Alexandra and Charlotte winning by 6&4. So now the match was all square, both teams having won a game. Hannah and Emily having been well down managed to pull it back to all square at the 16th. The 17th was then halved after a fantastic bunker shot and putt from Emily.  Hannah then hit a great drive down the 18th allowing Emily to play a match winning shot six feet from the pin which was the followed by a birdie putt from Hannah to give them the game and secure the match against the West and also to take the championship.

Well done girls !

Unfortunately on Saturday evening Maggie took unwell so unfortunately missed all the exciting play on Sunday. We do wish her well and thank her for all her support and hard work to the run up to the competition.
