Eilidh and Porscha before the Final

Report of Final.

After the cold and sometimes wet day of the Summer Meeting and Quarter Finals on Monday, at last the sun shone for the girls. This year's final was contested by two Fife girls, Porscha Wilson and Eilidh Henderson. Porscha won the first to go 1up but Eilidh won the 2nd to square the match. Holes 3, 4 and 5 were halved then Eilidh won the 6th to go 1 up. She also won the 7th with a par and the 9th with a birdie to be 3 up after 9 holes. Eilidh won the 10th to go 4 up. At the 12th, Porscha's second shot was blocked by trees on the left hand side of the fairway, so Eilidh won the hole with a par to go 5up. With the next two holes halved, Eilidh won the match 5 & 4 and became East of Scotland Girls Champion for 2017.

Congratulations to both girls on their high standard of golf throughout the match. Eilidh was 2 under par (33) for the first 9 holes and parred the remaining holes. Thank you to Sarah Walker, Captain of Stirling & Clackmannan, for refereeing this year's final.
