East of Scotland Girls’ Order of Merit 2022

Congratulations to Evie McCallum, Renaissance & Dunfermline, who has won this year's Order of Merit. Evie gained maximum points in the Summer Meeting at Falkirk Tryst and went on to win the Championship. she also gained points in the Spring Meeting at Longniddry and won the East Lothian Junior Championship.

The runner-up was Erin Huskie, Stirling with 48 points. Erin gained points in the Spring, Summer and Autumn Meetings, East Girls Championship and is S&C Junior Champion. Megan Fallon, Broomieknowe, was in 3rd place with 39 points. Megan was runner up in the Championship, won the Midlothian Junior Championship and gained points in all the Meetings.

Carly McDonald, St Regulus, and Molly Nicholson were joint fourth with 31points. Carly gained points in the Spring and Summer Meetings and in our Championship and is Fife Junior Champion. Molly won the Scratch at the Spring Meeting and also gained points in the Summer Meeting and East Girls Championship.

Scottish Junior Team Tournament at Stirling

The East of Scotland Girls Team of Maisie Witt, Jessica Wood, Maisie Band, Ella Henderson, Marianne Dawson and Olivia Thomson played in the Scottish Team Tournament at Stirling on Sunday. Everyone played well over a long and challenging course. I am sure they must have been the youngest team in the Tournament. Unfortunately one of our team had to retire due to injury. Everyone wishes Jessica a speedy recovery. 

Many congratulations to East Girls’ team member, Olivia Thompson, who won the Girls Individual Prize with an excellent score of 50 points.Fantastic golf ⛳️!

The overall team prize was won by Swanston Golf and the Girls Team Prize was won by The West Girls Blue Team. 

Many thanks to organiser David Warren and to all who helped run the event. It was a most enjoyable day.

Midlothian Girls win Cuthbertson Cup

Congratulations to the Midlothian Girls who won the Cuthbertson Cup at Ladybank on Sunday. The morning matches were very close with Midlothian beating Fife and East Lothian beating Stirling & Clackmannan.

The final between East Lothian and Midlothian was also closely contested with East Lothian winning the first two games and Midlothian winning the other two matches. 

There was excellent golf played by all the players from all the counties in the competition. It is fantastic that there are so many talented girls in the East Division. Well done everyone 👏👏.

Evie McCallum beat Megan Fallon by 6 & 5 in the final of the East of Scotland Girls' Championship held at Falkirk Tryst. Congratulations to Evie on becoming this year's Champion. Well done to both girls who played excellent golf over the two days and contested the final in the best of spirits.

The matchplay stages of the East of Scotland Girls’ Championship continued at Falkirk Tryst on Wednesday 6th July at Falkirk Tryst on a rather chilly and windy morning.  One girl from each of our four counties had reached the semi final - Evie McCallum (East Lothian), Carly McDonald (Fife), Megan Fallon (Midlothian) and Erin Huskie (Stirling & Clackmannan).

Order of Merit 

We will award four prizes for Order of Merit winners at the end of the Season.

Points are awarded as follows:

  • For each County junior championship: 10,7,5,3 points will be awarded to the Champion, Runner-Up, 3rd. and 4th places respectively.
  • For each East of Scotland GGA meeting: 15,13,11,9,7,5,3,1 points will be awarded for the best 8 scratch scores.
  • For the East of Scotland Girls' Championship: 20,15,10,10,5,5,5,5 points will be awarded to the champion, runner-up, semi-finalists and quarter-finalists respectively.
Enter as many competitions as you can; they all count for the Order of Merit.
