Scottish Girls’ Amateur Championship

Congratulations to Carly McDonald, Ellie Bent, Abigail May and Evie McCallum who have all qualified for the Match Play stages of the Scottish Girls’ Amateur Championship. 

Congratulations also to Katie Mackenzie, Reene Carroll, Louise Martin and Megan Fallon who have qualified for the Net Match Play Championship.

In the first qualifying round, Carly McDonald had a gross 66 which was a Course record. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

R&A Junior Open

In the R&A Junior Open, held at Kilmarnock (Barassie), competitors from all over the world represented their country. Scotland were represented by Aidan Lawson, Bruntsfield, and Erin Huskie, Stirling. 

In the Boys Open, Aidan finished T2. In the Girls’ Open, Erin finished T14. Well done to both πŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ ΏπŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ ΏπŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Order of Merit - 2024

After the Summer Meeting and Championship, it is close at the top of the Order of Merit. Louise Martin is still in the lead with 34 points. Close behind are Ellie Bent 32 points, Erin Huskie 31 points and Lara Douglas 27 points. All to play for in the Autumn Meeting. Points will also be added for the Junior County Championship at the end of the season.

Erin Huskie beat Lara Douglas in the final of the East of Scotland Girls’ Championship at Aberdour. Congratulations to Erin on becoming East Girls’ Champion for the first time. Well done to both girls on the excellent standard of golf played in the final.

Louise Martin, Gullane, is leading in the Order of Merit after the Spring Meeting. Ellie Bent, also Gullane, is in second place with Katie Mackenzie, Craigmillar Park and Rita Murphy, Murrayfield, in third and fourth places respectively.

We will award four prizes for the Order of Merit at the end of the season.

Points are awarded as follows:

  • For each County junior championship: 10,7,5,3 points will be awarded to the Champion, Runner-Up, 3rd. and 4th places respectively.
  • For each East of Scotland GGA meeting: 15,13,11,9,7,5,3,1 points will be awarded for the best 8 scratch scores.
  • For the East of Scotland Girls' Championship: 20,15,10,10,5,5,5,5 points will be awarded to the champion, runner-up, semi-finalists and quarter-finalists respectively.
Enter as many competitions as you can, they all count for the Order of Merit.

To enter the Summer Meeting, 

The best 8 gross scores from the Summer Meeting qualify for the match play Championship.
This will be played as follows:

Quarter Finals: Thursday 4th July afternoon 
Semifinals: Friday 5th July morning 
Final: Friday 5th July afternoon

East Girls win Mhairi McKay Trophy at Baberton

Congratulations to the East Girls’ who won the match, played on Sunday at Baberton against the West Girls. In spite of the rain, which started just as the girls were teeing off, the girls enjoyed their golf and there was lots of chat afterwards in the Clubhouse.
