Megan and Grace win Stephen Gallacher Orders of Merit

Congratulations to Megan Linton (Craigmillar Park) and Grace Crawford (Gullane Ladies) who have won the Stephen Gallacher Orders of Merit for 2016.

MEGAN LINTON (Craigmillar Park)
Well done Megan in defending your title from last year, a fantastic performance yet again with a strong finish. Wins at Newbattle, Bathgate, Gullane, Royal Burgess and Greenburn giving Megan a win by 71 points from Eilidh Crawford from Kingsfield and 91 points from young Grace Crawford.

Well done Grace, our youngest ever winner, in any of our boys and girls order of merits, at the ripe old age of, 9. Wins at Bonnybridge, Prestonfield and Glencorse early season set Grace on her way with consistent performances thereafter to win by 159 points from Megan Linton and 291 points from Eildh Crawford.

We had 26 girls who scored points within the order of merits for 2016, which is excellent and we look forward to more girls taking part next year.'

Jenna Downie wins Overall Prize at Autumn Meeting

Jenna Downie, Kirkcaldy, won the Overall Prize with a nett 64 in the East of Scotland Girls' Autumn Meeting held at Dunnikier G C, Fife. Eilidh Crawford, Kingsfield, won the Scratch Prize with a gross score of 73.

Our last competition of the season brought sunshine and pleasant playing conditions. The girls enjoyed the course which was in great condition. There were some excellent scores and all the prizes were closely contested.

It was great to have so many girls playing today and there was lots of chat in the clubhouse after the competition. Thank you to all those who stayed on for the prizegiving.

It has been a successful year for the East of Scotland Girls with all our competitions being well attended.  Thank you to all the girls who played and congratulations to those who reduced their handicaps in competitions throughout the year. We were delighted to welcome several new members from all the Counties. A big thank you to all the parents / relatives who bring the girls to the events - your support is much appreciated. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

East Girls win against Spanish U16 Girls at Craigielaw

A team of Lothians Boys and East of Scotland girls played in a match against a Spanish Under 16 Select team at Craigielaw Golf Club on Sunday 21st August. Each team consisted of five boys and five girls. The games were keenly contested and played in the best of spirits with the Lothians Boys/East of Scotland Girls winning overall. Spectators enjoyed watching excellent golf, congratulations to all who played.

Our thanks to Lothians' Officials John Allan and Alistair Dun who made all the arrangements prior to the match. Special thanks to Alistair Dun who welcomed everyone to Craigielaw and started everyone off from the first tee. It was lovely to meet the Spanish officials and their team.

2016 Order of Merit - Eilidh Crawford in lead after Championship

Eilidh Crawford (Kingsfield) leads the East of Scotland Girls' Order of Merit with 45 points after this year's Summer Meeting and Championship. Emma Morrison (Craigmillar Park) is in second place with 37 points while Grace Crawford, Megan Linton and Morgan Graham lie in joint third spot with 22 points. Points can be gained at the Autumn Meeting being held on Saturday 27th August at Dunnikier Park, Kirkcaldy, so enter online for this. Points will also be added for each County Girls' Championship at the end of the season. There is still all to play for. Good luck for the rest of the season.
