Caitlin Turner wins Overall Prize at Spring Meeting

Sunday 19th April

Caitlin Turner, Baberton, won the Overall Prize with a nett 67 in the East of Scotland Girls Spring Meeting held at Ratho Park Golf Club. Andrea Walker, Glenbervie, won the Scratch Prize with a gross score of 76.

Although the day began rather chilly and damp, the weather improved and the girls enjoyed the course and played some excellent golf. The scores were close, so congratulations to everyone for playing well so early in the season.

Just a reminder that Subscriptions (£ 10) for 2015 are now due. Please click Membership Form on the left-hand side of this page and send the completed form to the Secretary / Treasurer,  Mandy Easton, as detailed on the form. This is a slight increase from last year so if you have already used the old form, we can make the adjustment later.

We look forward to seeing you all at our competitions this year. We are always pleased to welcome new members, so please encourage other girls in your County to join this year.

We wish everyone successful and enjoyable golf in 2015.

  • are under 18 on 1st January 2015
  • are a junior member of one of the four county associations in the East of Scotland.
  • have a Congu handicap of 35 or less
We also have a 18-21 section where girls can play in the stroke competitions.

Joanne wins Scottish Girls' Champion of Champions

The Scottish Junior Champion of Champions competition was held at the Duke's Course, St Andrews on Saturday 11th October.  Congratulations to Joanne Free, Gullane Ladies, on winning the girls' trophy. Joanne had an excellent par 71 to win by one shot from Ellie Bryce (Strathaven).

Jennifer Allan wins East Girls' Order of Merit

Congratulations to Jennifer Allan, Glenbervie and Stirling & Clackmannan, on winning the 2014 East of Scotland Girls' Order of Merit. Emma Morrison, Craigmillar Park & Midlothian, is runner-up with Catherine Goodwin, Glenbervie, and Charlotte Munro, Gullane Ladies, taking third and fourth places.

Katie Liddle wins Overall Prize at Autumn Meeting

Katie Liddle, Glenbervie, won the Overall Prize with a nett 70 in the East of Scotland Girls Autumn Meeting held at Stirling Golf Club. Jennifer Allan, also from Glenbervie, won the Scratch Prize with a score of 79.

The girls enjoyed an excellent course, which has stunning views, on a beautiful day. The scores were close, so congratulations to everyone for playing so well on a challenging course.

East Girls play against Spanish Under 16 Girls at Longniddry

The Lothians Golf Association invited five East of Scotland girls to play in a match against the Spanish  Under 16 team at Longniddry Golf Club on Wednesday 27th August. Each team consisted of five boys and five girls. The games were keenly contested and played in the best of spirits with the Spanish Team winning overall. Spectators enjoyed watching some outstanding golf, congratulations to all who played.

Thank you to Paul Gibson, Lothians' Junior Convener who made all the arrangements for the match. Our thanks also go to the Lothians Golf Association for their generous hospitality after the match. The buffet was excellent and enjoyed by everyone. The Lothians' Officials and representatives of Longniddry Golf Club all made us feel very welcome and it was lovely to meet the Spanish officials and their team.

2014 Order of Merit - Jennifer Allan in the lead after Championship.....

Jennifer Allan (Glenbervie) leads the East of Scotland Girls' Order of Merit with 47 points after this year's Summer Meeting and Championship. Emma Morrison (Craigmillar Park) is in second place with 40 points while Catherine Goodwin (Glenbervie) and Lauren Lee (Musselburgh), lie in third and fourth spots with 19 and 17 points respectively. Points can be gained at the Autumn Meeting being held on Sunday 31st August at Stirling Golf Club so enter online for this. Points will also be added for each County Girls' Championship at the end of the season. There is still all to play for. Good luck for the rest of the season.
