Good luck to all the East of Scotland Girls who are playing in the Scottish Amateur Championship at Gullane. Hope you all play well and that the sun shines ☀️.

Summer Meeting Entry

 The East of Scotland Girls’ Summer Meeting and Championship will be held at Murrayfield Golf Club on Tuesday 6th July and Wednesday 7th July. We are looking forward to seeing all the East Girls after the restrictions that have prevented us running competitions for well over a year.

The best 8 gross scores from the Summer Meeting will qualify for the Championship matchplay. This will be played as follows:

Quarter Finals: Tuesday 6th July, afternoon

Semi Finals: Wednesday 7th July, morning

Final: Wednesday 7th July, afternoon

We hope for a good entry and that it will be a successful event. We are looking forward to welcoming all previous and new members to Murrayfield in July.

Spring Meeting - postponed

Unfortunately the Spring Meeting scheduled to be play at Stirling Golf Club on Sunday 21st March has been postponed. We will discuss the feasibility of rearranging this Competition when there are more details of easing golf and travel restrictions.

Spring Meeting - postponed

Regretfully, due to current guidelines and to avoid unnecessary travel, the East of Scotland Girls’ Spring Meeting, scheduled for Sunday 29th March at Glenbervie, has been postponed.

We will try to reschedule this event if the current situation improves.

Our other fixtures, as detailed in the previous post, will be reviewed as necessary.

East of Scotland Girls’ Membership 2020

Hi Girls

I hope you are all well and have managed to play some winter golf in spite of the stormy weather. I hope you are looking forward to this year’s golfing season.

We look forward to seeing you all at our competitions this year. All our competitions last year were well attended and it was great to see handicaps being cut throughout the year. Well done, everyone!

East Lothian Girls win Kingsbarns Girls Classic

The Kingsbarns Girls Classic was held on Saturday 2nd November. Scottish Golf invited each county to enter a team of two girls to play in the event. This year each team of girls played alongside a Scottish Professional, LET tour player or Scottish Elite player in a Texas Scramble format.

Evanna wins East of Girls’ Order of Merit - 2019

Congratulations to Evanna Hynd, Lundin Golf Club, who has won this year’s East of Scotland Girls’ Order of Merit. Evanna gained maximum points in the Summer Meeting, Championship, the Autumn Meeting and in the Fife Junior Championship. She gained 60 points overall. Lucy Morrison, Craigmillar Park, was runner up with 40 points. Lucy Hall, Craigmillar Park, was in third place with 37 points and Eilidh Henderson, Loretto School, was fourth with 35 points.

Freya Constable wins Stephen Gallacher Orders of Merit

Congratulations to Freya Constable on winning the Stephen Gallacher Scratch and Handicap Orders of Merit.  Freya completed an excellent season by gaining 3rd place points in each section at our Autumn Meeting at Dunbar. Alijca Gorka wins Overall Prize at Dunbar

Alicja Gorka, Royal Musselburgh, won the Overall Prize at the Autumn Meeting at Dunbar today with a net score of 72. Evanna Hynd, Lundin Golf Club, won the Scratch Prize with a gross score of 73.

Thank you to Dunbar Golf Club for courtesy of the course for our Autumn Meeting. Although the Course was challenging especially with the strong wind on the back 9, the girls all enjoyed the course with Ala and Evanna cutting their handicaps. Well done to both and congratulations to Evanna on reducing her handicap to Scratch for the first time.

Thank you to everyone at Dunbar for a warm welcome, we also enjoyed the excellent catering in the Clubhouse.

The East of Scotland Girls Autumn Meeting will be held on Sunday 1st September at Dunbar Golf Club.
This competition will also be a qualifier for the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Championships.

Points for the East Girls Order of Merit can be gained at the Autumn Meeting. Points will also be added for each County Girls Championship at the end of the season. There is still all to play for. Good luck for the rest of the season!

Stephen Gallacher Orders of Merit 
Our Autumn Meeting is the last qualifying event in the Stephen Gallacher, Scratch and Handicap, Orders of Merit. It’s good to see many East Girls doing well in this as well.

Grace Crawford wins Scottish Open U14 Championship

Congratulations to Grace Crawford, Gullane, who won the Scottish Under 14 Championship at Elgin Golf Club. Grace had rounds of 77 and 71 to finish in a tie for 1st place with Karusi Tran from Wales. Grace then had a stunning eagle at the first playoff hole to become Scottish Under 14 Champion. Very well played, Grace.

Congratulations to Evanna Hynd and Grace Crawford who have been selected to play in the Scottish Girls Team in the Home Internationals. Good luck to both East girls and to the rest of the team.
